Privacy and hosting

Privacy, in plain language.

How HomeTechMatch handles information while you explore the guides.

Search and the fit helper

Identify the source, keep the context, and state the limits of the evidence.

The fit helper keeps your selections in the page's memory. It does not ask for your name, email or an account, and does not send your selections to a database.

Search terms appear in the search page URL and are used by the server to find matching guides. Because they are part of the URL, search terms can appear in hosting and server logs.

Hosting and services

Vercel hosts HomeTechMatch. When your browser requests a page, ordinary technical request information, including your IP address, the requested URL and browser information, can be processed and appear in hosting logs. HomeTechMatch has no analytics, advertising pixels, newsletter service or visitor account or database system.

Product cards can load images directly from Amazon's image servers. When an image loads, Amazon receives the request and ordinary connection information, including your IP address. The image can load even if you do not click a retailer link.

Following an external manufacturer or retailer link takes you to a separate website governed by that site's practices. Those websites may collect information under their own privacy notices.

Amazon purchase links include our affiliate tracking ID so qualifying referrals can be attributed to HomeTechMatch. Our server retrieves the catalog details; your fit-helper answers and search terms are not included in those catalog requests.
