About HomeTechMatch

Good technology starts with a good fit.

We help you understand the details that decide whether a smart device belongs in your home.

Your home is the starting point

Identify the source, keep the context, and state the limits of the evidence.

A useful product guide starts with the equipment you already own, the way you use it, and the changes you are willing to make. HomeTechMatch focuses on those decisions before comparing a list of features.

Our first guides cover smart AC controllers for mini-splits and room air conditioners. They explain control methods, remote requirements and the questions to ask before buying.

Meet the founder

Identify the source, keep the context, and state the limits of the evidence.

HomeTechMatch was started by Marvin Smit, owner of StayCool Airconditioning in the Netherlands. His work in air conditioning shaped the site's focus on practical compatibility questions.

HomeTechMatch is written for US readers. A background in the Netherlands is not evidence of a US installation license or a test of a particular American model. Our guides identify the sources and limits of the evidence they use.

Know what the advice is based on

Identify the source, keep the context, and state the limits of the evidence.

Our current controller guides are based on manufacturer documentation. We have not hands-on tested the featured controllers. Research and future hands-on testing are kept separate, so you can judge the advice in context.
